A classic cold coffee is a refreshing and simple beverage and is a great way to beat the heat. The caffeine from the coffee combined with the refreshing coolness gives a rejuvenating effect. The best part is it is versatile to suit different tastes and preferences. In this version, we’re adding a twist by using South Indian filter coffee, which gives the drink a rich, aromatic flavor that enhances this classic recipe.

Ground Filter Coffee - 20 g, Water - 200 ml, Milk - 100 ml, Ice cream - 100 g, Ice cubes - 2

Filter Coffee dabba, kettle to heat water, pot to heat milk
The Recipe

Prepare Coffee Bed: Put 20 g of ground filter coffee in the perforated top container of the dabba

Add Water: Pour 100 ml boiling water (95°C) over the coffee.

Control Flow (Optional): Use a tamper or a layer of sugar over the coffee bed to slow the flow of water.

Allow to Drip: Let the coffee drip for 15 mins to get approximately 80 ml of decoction.

Combine and Serve: Blend 50 ml of the decoction with 100 g of ice cream, 100 ml of milk, and 2 ice cubes.

- When brewing your filter coffee, measure the coffee and water in a 1:5 ratio.
