90°C - 95°C
Espresso machine, kettle to heat water
The Recipe

Measure Coffee: Use 22 grams of finely ground coffee beans.

Prep Espresso: Load the coffee into the portafilter and tamp evenly.

Heat Water: Heat 150 ml of water in a kettle to 85-90°C

Pull Shot: Extract a 30 ml espresso shot.

Pour Water: Add 150 ml of hot water to a cup.

Layer Espresso: Pour espresso gently over hot water.

Serve: Enjoy immediately for bright, rich flavours.
Brewer's Notes
- Use freshly heated water in a kettle for better temperature control.
- Pouring the espresso over water minimises bitterness and gives it a smoother taste.
- Adjust water temperature based on preference: 75°C for immediate drinking, 90°C for cooling down before serving.
